Donna was raised in Brookfield, Connecticut where her mother had a keen interest that her daughter had art talent. She encouraged her starting in high school, where Donna picked up a watercolor brush and since then has never dropped it. She studied at the State University of NY at New Paltz, and finished a bachelors degree in graphic design at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT. Now living in central mass, she continues to paint daily and her name has become popular in the area. The areas where she has exhibited are many including Gardner, Massachusetts at the Gala Gardner Artists show, Jaffrey, NH Art Center, Gill, Massachusetts art show, Rhode Island Watercolor Society, Pawtucket annual shows. She has sold many paintings and won many awards which stem from New England to the West Coast in San Francisco.
I believe my paintings give a abstract picture when I paint flowers, landscapes and also anything I visually see. Painting has given me the peace I needed in a world that has been tainted with unhappy people. For years I painted during my lunch hour and it is here I honed by craft by painting during my lunch.
Today I am retired and realizing my strengths which are many. I take jobs from completer strangers and follow my artistic sense in designing and depicting a clients hope and dreams. To be an artist is truly something I enjoy.
I love the summers spent in Maine. I am often sitting on the beach enjoying the vistas, and taking what I see to paper. I miss my mom as she supported me all through my life encouraging me to go further and further. She lived to see me win first prize at the Gardner Gala Artist Show and then sell the same painting the same day. Her mentoring and my grandmother as well gave me the strength as a women to make my mark in this beautiful world which I am so blessed to paint.
