Donna Eaton's Artist's Statement
I believe my paintings give a abstract picture when I paint flowers, landscapes and also anything I visually see.
Painting has given me the peace I needed in a world that has been tainted with unhappy people. For years I painted during my lunch hour and it is here I honed by craft by painting during my lunch.
Today I am retired and realizing my strengths which are many. I take jobs from completer strangers and follow my artistic sense in designing and depicting a clients hope and dreams. To be an artist is truly something I enjoy.
I love the summers spent in Maine. I am often sitting on the beach enjoying the vistas, and taking what I see to paper. I miss my mom as she supported me all through my life encouraging me to go further and further. She lived to see me win first prize at the Gardner Gala Artist Show and then sell the same painting the same day. Her mentoring and my grandmother as well gave me the strength as a women to make my mark in this beautiful world which I am so blessed to paint.
